David Williams was born and raised in DeKalb County, Georgia, and graduated from Clarkston High School in eastern DeKalb. After having worked in construction during summer vacations since the age of 11, David gained some technical training at DeKalb Community College, and started his own building repair and maintenance company in 1975; where he also began acquiring extensive training and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
David earned a Georgia real estate license in 1980, and then a license as a state-certified commercial and residential real estate appraiser while working with Hughes and Associates in Decatur in 1989. While there, he also began performing home inspections as an independent inspector.
David again turned to the HVAC field in 1996, working as a residential and commercial HVAC service technician. David was awarded U.S. Patent 6,292,828 in September of 2001 for a multimedia and premises surveillance operating system. David then started another building services and engineering company in 2005, performing repairs and consulting assignments on mostly industrial and commercial buildings in Gwinnett, Walton, and north Fulton County.
